Case Made For Better Rail / Bus Connections

The East Suffolk Travellers’ Association (ESTA) is ramping up efforts for better connections between rail services on the East Suffolk Line and bus services across the east of the county. ESTA has sent a report to more than four dozen organisations outlining measures to achieve better integration, including simple measures such as improving signage between bus stops and nearby rail stations. Listing bus services in the rail timetable, and rail services in the bus timetable was also suggested.

ESTA focused its report primarily on the areas served by Halesworth and Saxmundham railway stations, but the report includes improvements that can be made at other stations. ESTA makes light of the fact that all but one station on the East Suffolk Line are served by a bus stop, either at the station, or nearby.
