Derby Road station to Ipswich station via Holywells Park
3.5 miles – about 2 hours
Meet at Derby Road station. It’s a short walk to fantastic Holywells Park which features a wooded ravine, several spring fed ponds, green spaces and nature trails. At points it will seem as if you are in the middle of the woods.
The route will follow some of the nature trails on the way to the park’s stable block; there you’ll find toilet facilities and Bishop’s Cafe & Tea Room.
From the park it’s past the University of Suffolk to lovely Ipswich Waterfront with its many cafes and eateries; from here Ipswich rail station is about 3/4 of a mile away.
Dogs are very welcome; they’ll love the park and they travel free on the train.
