We hold FREE station-to-station Guided Walks throughout the year. Your dog is welcome too and they travel free on the train.
Next Free Guided Walk
Brampton Circular – Saturday 19 October – 10.40am
6 miles – about 3.5 hours
The next free guided walk is a 6 mile circular from Brampton station, the most rural and isolated station on the East Suffolk Line.
The walk will take in the lovely village of Redisham and its church. Heading north we’ll cross the railway at Webby Wood and turn more easterly. The terrain here is mostly flat through a mix of pastures and wooded areas.
At Shadingfield there will be a lunch stop at the Shadingfield Fox or bring a picnic.
From Shadingfield we descend into the valley along Titsal Wood before climbing back up as we head to Brampton Old Hall.
Walk 18 in the booklet which you can find here: Station Walks
The booklet lists the route as 7.5 miles but the measurement is now 6.01 miles following the decommissioning of central section of the route (not shown on the map)
Note: there is a half-mile of road walking just beyond Redisham on approach to Webby Wood where there is a stile that crosses the railway.
TOILETS: about 3.6 miles into the walk at the Shadingfield Fox.
