We hold FREE station-to-station Guided Walks throughout the year. Your dog is welcome too and they travel free on the train.
Next Free Guided Walk
The next free station-to-station guided walk is Saturday 27 July from Brampton to Beccles.
Starts at 10.40am – 7 miles – about 4 hours
The walk quickly makes its way from the station into some of the most isolated countryside in East Suffolk, passing next to Redisham Hall where we’ll have a quick stop at the team room.. The route then passes through the village of Ringsfield Corner before descending into the tiny sister village of Ringsfield.
The landscape is a mixture of parkland, wooded areas and rolling hills. Near to Beccles the route goes through a lovely wood approaching Bungay Road. It’s then onto Puddingmoor with Beccles set high above. A set of steps takes us into Beccles proper. Beccles rail station is 7 minute walk away.
Toilets: there are toilet facilities about an hour into the walk at Redisham Hall Tea Room and tree cover along the way.
Lunch: bring a picnic lunch; there is a tea room at Redisham Hall but no pubs or restaurants along the route. At the end in Beccles there are many places to choose from.
Trains: 9.16 from Ipswich – 10.06 from Lowestoft – 8.28 from Felixstowe
Advice if you plan to take part in our Guided Walks
- Wear stout, comfortable footwear and have waterproofs if wet.
- Bring refreshments (especially drink), a snack, or lunch for brief stops along the way.
- Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead.
- Check train times before setting on the National Rail Enquiries website or mobile app, or call 03457 48 49 50.
- Be tick aware! Ticks can be encountered all year. Government advice on ticks is available here.
- No insurance cover is provided – all come at own risk.
