Derby Road station is not only bee and butterfly friendly but is now home to a bug hotel. The station adopters and volunteers from Friends of the Earth Ipswich spent a few hours on the first Saturday in December constructing a bug hotel. The structure provides a habitat for insects and helps them to survive the cold winter months.
The hotel is made from recycled pallets features a living roof and is situated in the wildflower meadow that the same group of volunteers created in September 2020.
