Passenger Numbers to be Counted

The East Suffolk Line Community Rail Partnership has commissioned a full survey of passenger numbers. A company that specialises in rail passenger counts will carry out a survey of all people using the route over the course of a typical day.

Passenger numbers on the East Suffolk Line have risen 15% in the last year, and because the priority for Conductors is issuing and checking tickets there is only complete data for a few trains and stations. The survey results will be used to determine the need for more frequent services.

Face coverings were made compulsory on public transport as of Tuesday 30 November 2021

A revised timetable with further temporary reductions to rail services came into effect Monday 17 January 2022
