East Suffolk Line Birthday Buffet Social

The East Suffolk Travellers Association (ESTA) is getting ready to celebrate 151 years of the East Suffolk Line railway. A Birthday buffet social will take place on Tuesday 1st June at the Railway Inn Westerfiled, adjacent to Westerfield station. The festivities begin at 6:45pm. Tickets are £6 and available from Peter Cannon at Cannon Travel, located inside Saxmundham railway station, or call 01728 604600. ESTA is hoping to make this an annual event; the first birthday buffet social took place last year to mark the line’s 150 year anniversary.

INDUSTRIAL ACTION is taking taking place in early May. Mon 6/5, and Wed 7/5 though Sat 11/5 most services will run but there will be some cancellations. On Tuesday 7/5 there will be a full strike; NO services on the East Suffolk Lines or the other local/regional routes will operate that day. Mainline services to/from London will be reduced.
