Guided Walk – Saturday 24 August
The East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership is holding its next station-to-station guided walk Saturday 24 August starting at 11:30am from Felixstowe Station.
A steady-paced fairly level walk, the 8 mile ‘Coast and Country’ ramble will follow Felixstowe’s Victoria Seafront past a well-preserved Martello on the way to Felixstowe Ferry. Where there will be a stop for lunch at the Ferryboat Inn, or bring a picnic. Turning inland the route then follows the Kings Fleet waterway westward before crossing tranquil farmland to Trimley station.
At the end there will be a free draw for two first class return rail tickets to London Liverpool Street courtesy of Greater Anglia.
There’s no need to book; the walk is free and dogs on leads are welcome. Stout footwear is essential. Those taking part do so at there own risk as insurance is not provided.
The walk is featured in the latest edition of the East Suffolk Lines Walks booklet which has details on 160 miles of way-marked walking routes, most of which connect rail stations between Felixstowe, Ipswich and Lowestoft.
Guided walks are held throughout the year and anyone can sign up for email notifications of future walks by visiting our sign up page.
