Halesworth Ticket Machine

Halesworth Ticket Machine

Train operator Abellio Greater Anglia has officially opened its newest Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) on the East Suffolk Line. The new machine at Halesworth station is situated under the canopy on the Lowestoft bound platform.

The card-only machine accepts most debit and credit cards, and tickets bought in advance online or through a mobile phone app can be collected at the machine. Frequently bought tickets are displayed on-screen, and passengers can buy tickets to any location on the National Rail network including journeys which include the London Underground.

The ticket machine also displays information on any travel restrictions that may apply to a particular ticket type, helping passengers to easily purchase the most appropriate ticket for their journey. It also complies with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act.

In addition to the new ticket machine CCTV has been also been installed.

The new ticket machine at Halesworth follows the successful installation of TVMs on the East Suffolk Line at Woodbridge, Saxmundham, and Beccles, and on the Felixstowe Line at Felixstowe Station.

Funded was provided by Abellio Greater Anglia, Suffolk County Council and the East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership through the Designated Community Rail Development Fund.

Official opening of the ticket machine at Halesworth stationJonathan Denby, Abellio Greater Anglia’s Head of Corporate Affairs, said: “The new ticket machine will make ticket purchasing much easier for passengers, in addition to the print-at-home and mobile ticketing options we have made available along the East Suffolk line, and the installation of CCTV will enhance customers’ feelings of safety and security while they wait for trains. We are grateful for the support of Suffolk County Council and Designated Community Rail Fund in taking this customer and community-focused improvement forward.”
