Santa Express to Saxmundham Christmas Fayre

Saxmundham Christmas Fayre

Families were able to enjoy a magical train journey to visit the Saxmundham Christmas Fayre. The East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership teamed up with Greater Anglia and Saxmundham Town Council to host the event on 1 December.

The Santa Express departed Lowestoft at 16.05 with every child receiving a goody bag as families joined the train as it made its way down the line. Upon arrival at Saxmundham, all were met by Father Christmas before going on to visit his grotto where the Community Rail Partnership provided mince pies and hot drinks.

Community Rail Officer, Thalia Rushmore said,

“We were delighted to partner with the Saxmundham Christmas Fayre to help reduce traffic coming into the town and add an extra element of Christmas cheer to the event.”

Greater Anglia’s Customer and Community Engagement Manager, Alan Neville, said,

“I would like to thank the East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership for putting on this lovely festive event which offered families a great value and fun way to travel to the fayre.”
