Talk * Train * Trail * Tea
The folks at Station House Community Connections have organised a spring guided station-to-station walk to help raise funds for the scheme to restore Wickham Market Rail Station.
Dubbed ‘Talk * Train * Trail * Tea’ the walk will get under way at 10.30am Sunday 3rd May 2015 at Wickham Market Station in Campsea Ashe with a snapshot history of the East Suffolk Railway.
Ramblers will then board the 11.02 Abellio Greater Anglia train service to Melton Station where the walk will be lead by Roger Wolfe. Roger is the author of the East Suffolk Line Walks booklet which details all the station-to-station walks along the 49 mile East Suffolk Line and those covering the Felixstowe Line.
The walk will take you along country footpaths and byways in the heart of the Deben Valley, through picturesque Lower Ufford, by the side of Loudham Park, and back to Campsea Ashe for refreshments.
Numbers are limited so it’s best to book early. The entry fee is £5 for Adults, £3 for Under 16s, and £12 for Families, and it includes your rail ticket to Melton thanks to Abellio Greater Anglia. For more information and to register visit the Station House Community Connections website events page.
