Train Maintenance Team Win Award
The team who maintain rail operator ‘one’s fleet of Class 156 trains have been honoured for their work. Norwich Crown Point Depot has earned the Silver Spanner Award. The team at the depot achieved an 86% increase in reliabilty of its Class 156 diesel multiple units. Crown Point was able to increase the mileage between mechanical faults from 3,169 in 2005 to 5,894 last year. The award was presented by the trade publication Modern Railways.
Class 156 two-car trains work the Lowestoft to Ipswich timetable on the East Suffolk Line, operate on other parts of the ‘one’ network, and run services for other train companies across Britain.
