Train Maintenance Team Win Award

Class 156 train at DarshamThe team who maintain rail operator ‘one’s fleet of Class 156 trains have been honoured for their work. Norwich Crown Point Depot has earned the Silver Spanner Award. The team at the depot achieved an 86% increase in reliabilty of its Class 156 diesel multiple units. Crown Point was able to increase the mileage between mechanical faults from 3,169 in 2005 to 5,894 last year. The award was presented by the trade publication Modern Railways.

Class 156 two-car trains work the Lowestoft to Ipswich timetable on the East Suffolk Line, operate on other parts of the ‘one’ network, and run services for other train companies across Britain.

INDUSTRIAL ACTION is taking taking place in early May. Mon 6/5, and Wed 7/5 though Sat 11/5 most services will run but there will be some cancellations. On Tuesday 7/5 there will be a full strike; NO services on the East Suffolk Lines or the other local/regional routes will operate that day. Mainline services to/from London will be reduced.
