150th Birthday In Miniature

Needham Market Model Railway ExhibitionThe Needham Market Model Railway Exhibition is celebrating the 150th Birthday of the East Suffolk Line.

This year’s exhibition will feature a dedicated hall to the line with four different layouts including the Aldeburgh branchline in Z gauge, the area around Woodbridge station and Oulton Broad North in N gauge, along with the narrow gauge Southwold Railway.

The group is also working on a driver’s eye view as seen from the cab which is scheduled to run all day.

East Suffolk Line Community Rail Partnership chairman John Brodribb will be on hand with a display of photos, and information on the network of station-to-station walks that connect East Suffolk Line stations.

Along with the East Suffolk Line layouts are several others in various gauges, trade stands, societies, and demonstrations.

The exhibition takes place Saturday 22nd August 2009 from 10am to 5pm in the Needham Market Community Centre, just a short walk from the railway station.
