Latitude Festival Approaches

The annual music and cultural festival at Henham Park near Southwold is quickly approaching. The annual event this year runs from Thursday 16/07/09 wrapping up Sunday 20/07/09. Thousands are expected to once again make the trek to this part of rural Suffolk.

Special Rail / Bus Ticket

Festival Republic, who organise the event, and train operator National Express East Anglia are offering a special ticket that combines rail and coach travel on one ticket. The special ticket provides for travel via train into Ipswich station where festival goers will transfer to a direct coach service to Latitiude provided by Anglian Bus. By Rail to Halesworth

The railway station at Halesworth is nearest the Latitude Festival but due to limited capacity rail services on the East Suffolk Line are limited to three-car trains every two hours. Passenger are advised to travel to Ipswich instead and transfer to shuttle buses running to and from the festival.

INDUSTRIAL ACTION is taking taking place in early May. Mon 6/5, and Wed 7/5 though Sat 11/5 most services will run but there will be some cancellations. On Tuesday 7/5 there will be a full strike; NO services on the East Suffolk Lines or the other local/regional routes will operate that day. Mainline services to/from London will be reduced.
