Cancelled Services Saturday 20 May – Details

Passengers are advised to check journey details before they travel this Saturday 20 May. As previously announced, some service cancellations will take place across the Greater Anglia network, due to industrial action short of a strike called by the ASLEF trades union. Greater Anglia has now confirmed which trains will be cancelled this Saturday.

Passenger assistance will be available as usual for all trains which are running. Anyone requiring assistance should plan their journey and book assistance in advance if possible.

Strikes At the End of the Month and Early June

Three 24-hour strikes are planned on Wednesday 31 May, Friday 2 June and Saturday 3 June. Most services are not expected to run on those dates. Final details of which services will operate will be published on the Greater Anglia website as soon as they are available, but it is expected that there will be no service on most routes and only a very limited service on the Norwich to London Liverpool Street, Colchester to London Liverpool Street, Southend Victoria to London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport to London Liverpool Street routes.

Jamie Burles, Greater Anglia managing director, said: “While the vast majority of services will be running as normal this Saturday, unfortunately passengers will face some cancellations across our network, due to industrial action short of a strike. We therefore advise customers to plan ahead and check before they travel.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by these service alterations.”

“The rail industry is working hard to resolve these disputes and talks will continue with ASLEF and RMT to try and reach an agreement.”

INDUSTRIAL ACTION is taking taking place in early May. Mon 6/5, and Wed 7/5 though Sat 11/5 most services will run but there will be some cancellations. On Tuesday 7/5 there will be a full strike; NO services on the East Suffolk Lines or the other local/regional routes will operate that day. Mainline services to/from London will be reduced.
