East Anglia Rail Passenger Franchise Consultation

A poster at Ipswich Station displays details of the East Anglia Rail Passenger Franchise ConsultationThe Department for Transport has launched a Public Consultation on rail travel in East Anglia. The Rail Executive is asking for views on how rail services could be improved in the next franchise which will begin in October 2016.

The aim is to deliver a better rail service that helps grow the economy of East Anglia, improves customer service, supports local communities, benefits the environment, and creates opportunities to serve more destinations.

When the specification for the new franchise is published, train operating companies will put forth their bids to run rail services across East Anglia including the East Suffolk Line and Felixstowe Line. The result will shape rail travel in our area for the next decade.
