Great Garden Rail Trail 2024

The Great Garden Rail Trail is back again this year. The event in aid of St. Elizabeth Hospice is happening Tuesday 9 July and showcases the flowers and gardens along the East Suffolk Line between Ipswich and Lowestoft.

Tickets must be booked in advance.

The day starts at 10am with a meet up at Ipswich station and then a short train journey to Beccles where the Hospice Ambassadors will join the rail trail. At Beccles there will be a short talk from Suffolk Wildlife Trust and a chance to get some lunch and stretch your legs.

Your ticket will allow you to then carry on up the line, using your info guide, and see the work of the volunteer adopters that look after the station flowers at more stations.

Tickets are £17.50 Adult (includes your rail fare and £7.50 donation to the hospice). £5.00 Child. Season tickets do not apply.

INDUSTRIAL ACTION is taking taking place in early May. Mon 6/5, and Wed 7/5 though Sat 11/5 most services will run but there will be some cancellations. On Tuesday 7/5 there will be a full strike; NO services on the East Suffolk Lines or the other local/regional routes will operate that day. Mainline services to/from London will be reduced.
