Santa Brings Festive Cheer

Father Christmas delivered some festive cheer to rail passengers on the East Suffolk Lines yesterday, as he took a break from preparations for the big day. His friends at the Community Rail Partnership invited him for the journey, taking him from Lowestoft down to Ipswich and across to Felixstowe, giving him an opportunity to say hello to both passengers and rail staff and collect a few last minute present requests on the way.

Father Christmas said: “It’s been a hectic time getting everyone’s presents organised and with the Sleigh having its final checks prior to Christmas Eve, it was great to take the opportunity to meet up with some old friends and gather some final Christmas lists. I used to either drive or take the bus, but with the hourly service running it’s much easier to go by train now and I also get the chance to say hello to everyone, too.”

A spokesperson for the East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership added, “We are delighted that Father Christmas was able to take a journey on the train through East Suffolk with us, enabling him to take a well-earned break from driving as he prepares to visit everyone on Christmas Eve.”

INDUSTRIAL ACTION is taking taking place in early May. Mon 6/5, and Wed 7/5 though Sat 11/5 most services will run but there will be some cancellations. On Tuesday 7/5 there will be a full strike; NO services on the East Suffolk Lines or the other local/regional routes will operate that day. Mainline services to/from London will be reduced.
