A programme of additional improvements at East Suffolk Line stations is well underway. The work is scheduled to be complete in time for the introduction of the new hourly service which commences Monday 10 December.
At Halesworth passengers will notice refurbishment work on the station’s canopy. Platform resurfacing has been taking place at Darsham station for the past several weeks, and at Wickham Market station (at Campsea Ashe) things will be a bit brighter as new lighting is being installed which will illuminate the recently extended car park.
In addition train operator Greater Anglia is repainting stations up and down the line as well as introducing new signage.
The package of improvements is the latest in a set of schemes which includes the new multimillion pound signalling system installed along the line, the reinstatment of a dual track and new points at Beccles (the Beccles Loop), new points at Halesworth and Woodbridge, and new automated tickets machines at Woodbridge and Saxmundham.
