Railway Journey to Lowestoft Makes Top Ten List

View from Woodbridge StationTV Presenter Tony Robinson says one of his favorite journeys by rail is from Cambridge to Lowestoft via the East Suffolk Lines. Robinson, who presents the Channel 4 programme “Time Team,” named the route one of his top ten British rail journeys. He says Woodbridge is “well worth a stop,” and is a “particularly pretty station right on the water’s edge.” Also mentioned is the station’s proximity to the town’s historic Tide Mill and nearby Sutton Hoo.

The portion of the journey from Cambridge through Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds also featured prominently in the list compiled for National Rail.
